THE DETOUR MAP
What is it?
The Detour Map is a living field guide from This Way Wild, built from real trips, scouting days, filming locations, campsites, hot springs, fly fishing stops, local food, scenic detours, outfitters, hikes, and places worth slowing down for.
It is not a list of generic travel recommendations.
It is a growing collection of places I would actually remember, revisit, or send a friend.
A FIELD GUIDE FOR THE LONG WAY AROUND
Inside the map, you’ll find campsites, hot springs, fly fishing spots, restaurants, local markets, scenic detours, hikes, outfitters, overlanding shops, and places that make a trip feel more alive.
Some pins are specific. Others are intentionally broad.
That is by design.
The goal is to give you a better starting point without removing the adventure completely or overexposing the places that make this map worth building in the first place.
HOW ACCESS WORKS
The Detour Map is available to This Way Wild supporters.
Choose monthly or yearly access below. Both options include the same Detour Map access. Once you join, you’ll be able to access the private Detour Map page through the member area.
Choose monthly if you want to support as you go, or yearly if you want the simplest option.
BUILT SLOWLY. UPDATED OFTEN.
The Detour Map will keep growing as This Way Wild grows.
Every trip may add something new: a campsite, a fly shop, a hot spring, a small-town meal, a place to shower, a scenic road, a local market, a hike, an outfitter, or a place worth slowing down for.
Thanks for supporting the road and helping keep this project moving.
